Level 3 Premium Maintenance
Please carefully compare the options in our three maintenance plans.
Cost is $700 per year, billed either in May or October. Two or more WSPS™ on same property receive a substantial discount on each subsequent WSPS™ as follows: $700 for one WSPS™; $225 for second WSPS™; $200 for third WSPS™.
Provides the Basic and Enhanced Services:

1. Set up and test WSPS™ on propane.

2. Test and repair or replace PVC, poly and rubber supply lines that have been damaged due to natural causes (falling trees, deer, moose, etc.).

3. Weigh and refill 50#/12 Gallon propane cylinder as required.
At the end of Fire Season (Fall):

4. Disassemble, drain and reconnect fittings as required.

5. Drain and remove suction line from water.

6. Remove and store drain plug on engine frame, and drain pump volute casing.

7. Cap suction intake, pump intake, pump discharge and discharge line connections with plastic as needed.

8. Cover engine air cleaner, intake manifold and exhaust with plastic.
Spring and Fall:

9. Test and repair or replace defective engine, propane fuel, pump and sprinkler head components.

10. Check oil level and cleanliness, topping off and/or replacing with new 10W30 Synthetic Oil after 50 hours of use as recommended by manufacturer.

11. Inspect/replace spark plug and air cleaner after 100 hours of use as recommended by manufacturer.
PLUS:

15. Monthly inspection and testing of WSPS™ in June, July, August and September, including retrofitting suction for low water levels.

16. Start WSPS™ during wildfire emergencies1 or prescribed burn(s) which could directly threaten property, using fuel in 50# propane cylinder, refilling as required, including oil changes. Implemented as soon as possible, provided no threat to lives of personnel exists.

17. If fire danger determined by US Forest Service at Tofte Ranger Station, Gunflint Ranger Station, Seagull Guard Station and/or MN DNR at Poplar Lake Fire Hall remains at High, Very High or Extreme for more than three consecutive days, start and run WSPS™ for up to 12 hours per week in order to maintain average precipitation rate of 1” per week until fire danger returns to Moderate or below. Note that the average precipitation in Superior National Forest is a little more than an 1” per week.

18. On site service call within 8 hours of notification.

19. Trim vegetation away from pump and sprinkler components.

20. Repositioning, leveling and shoring up pump pad location as required.
21. Re-painting of components as needed.
Labor & Material costs: Labor is free for items 1-21. Material is free for item 2. Propane is at current cost for item 3, 16 and 17. All other Material receives a 10% discount. Shop repair labor is free for the first 2 hours, $45 per hour thereafter.
Designation: Premium Level 3 Maintenance Customers are designated with a blue “M 3” on their yellow WS Hydrant Sign.
1Wildfire Emergency is defined as: Declared Evacuation (Cook County Sheriff); Pre-Evacuation/Structure Triage (fire personnel); and/or wildfire within 3 miles of Fire District boundaries with wind direction towards Fire District.
