Major Functions Performed by the Wildfire Shield™

Intelligent: Programmable controller analyzes input to automatically distribute fire prevention solution at the right time, eliminating false alarms
- Input: Outdoor humidity; outdoor temperature; date and time; user supplied input; wildfire detection
- Output: Fire prevention activation; alarm; telephone notification; email notification

Wildfire detection: IR/UV photonic sensors surrounding the structure can detect a ½ square foot of flame at a range of ¼ mile Linear Heat Detection (LHD)
Cable installed at strategic locations detects heat from fire

Fire prevention distribution: Dedicated pumps, self-contained water and environmentally-friendly fire suppression foam additive are distributed 360° around and on top of structure

UPS backup: Should utility power grid fail, a common occurrence during wildfire emergencies, dedicated batteries or propane powered generator assure an uninterruptible power supply

Irrigation: Used to pro-actively hydrate vegetation in times of drought

Automatic electronic communicating thermostat (optional): Thermostat features a multi-mode communication interface for local or remote HVAC control

About Firewise
The national Firewise Communities program is a multi-agency effort designed to reach beyond the fire service by involving homeowners, community leaders, planners, developers, and others in the effort to protect people, property, and natural resources from the risk of wildland fire - before a fire starts.
The Firewise Communities approach emphasizes community responsibility for planning in the design of a safe community as well as effective emergency response, and individual responsibility for safer home construction and design, landscaping, and maintenance.
